Undergraduate Medical Education
The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine currently offers a complete four year medical curriculum at the Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital Medical Center campus and also at the regional medical campus at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, 45 miles north of Miami.
While each campus offers its own unique learning experiences and areas of emphasis, all students will graduate from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine having mastered the same educational objectives and core competencies.
Educational Mission Statement
The Educational Mission Statement of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine at both campuses is to:
“Provide our students with a learner-centered, humane
and contemporary curriculum that prepares our graduates to
pursue successful careers in clinical care, biomedical research
and community service in the 21st Century.”
Graduate Medical Education
Residency and fellowship programs are offered by the Miller School of Medicine through The University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. All Graduate Medical Education programs are fully accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
Jackson Memorial Hospital is the third-largest teaching hospital in the U.S. with an average of 1,068 residents trained a year. Approximately two-thirds of the patients admitted to Jackson Memorial Hospital are funded, and the remainder are staff patients. All patients are cared for under the supervision of Jackson's medical staff, most of whom also hold appointments at the Miller School or at the VA Medical Center.
Continuing Medical Education
The Division of Continuing Medical Education at the Miller School of Medicine offers numerous opportunities for physicians and healthcare professionals from around the world to gain competency or improve performance in order to provide the highest quality care.
The Division’s Miami CME Winter Series will feature informative seminars on a variety of subjects including Neurology, Otolaryngology, Pain Management, Perioperative Medicine, Women’s Health and more.
CME Mission Statement:
The Miller School’s Division of Continuing Medical Education aims to:
