Global Initiatives

UHealth/Miller is part of the international effort to make health care a basic human rights. The Jay Weiss Center for Social Medicine and Health Equity (www.jayweisscenter.org) works to raise the level of health equity at home and abroad by increasing access to health care. 

The Global Institute for Community Health and Development (www.med.miami.edu/globalinstitute) seeks to generate knowledge and apply interdisciplinary approached to transform human health into sustainable economic health throughout the Western Hemisphere and beyond.
