The pelvic floor is the muscles, ligaments, connective tissue, and nerves that help support and control the rectum, uterus, vagina, and bladder. The pelvic floor can be damaged by childbirth, repeated heavy lifting, chronic disease or surgery.
General Obstetrics and Gynecology

General obstetrical care including preconceptional counseling, prenatal care, delivery, menopause management, elderly gynecology care, and the FDA-approved HPV vaccine are also offered.
Gynecologic Oncology
Gynecologic oncology is a subspecialty in obstetrics and gynecology, which provides consultation and comprehensive management of gynecologic cancer (cancer involving the ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, vagina and vulva).
Maternal Fetal Medicine
A maternal fetal medicine (MFM) doctor is an obstetrician/gynecologist who specializes in caring for a woman and her unborn child (the fetus) during high-risk pregnancy.
MFM specialists have advanced knowledge of the obstetrical, medical and surgical complications of pregnancy and are dedicated to providing the most recent approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of obstetrical problems.
The UHealth MFM team , comprised of seven MFM doctors, nurses, sonographers and genetic counselors, offers cutting edge clinical management and research in high-risk obstetrics including higher-resolution ultrasound and safer, less-invasive prenatal testing.
